Course fees are listed separately in another section of this site; they may be paid in advance or by agreed monthly instalments via bank standing orders. The fees quoted do not include an assessment Registration Fee imposed by City & Guilds, currently £145 (increasing to £166 in September 2011) for NVQ Level 4.

There are no other charges.

Students are expected to provide themselves with equipment, facilities and materials suitable for the type and level of work that they propose to undertake. In most cases this includes a digital SLR camera, a suitable lens or lenses, flashguns or studio lighting equipment and a computer loaded with image manipulation and word processing software. Desirable additions include an exposure meter, a tripod, filters for the lens/lenses, an inkjet or pigment printer, a scanner and external hard drives for storing data and images.

The software producers Adobe offer ‘student and teacher’ discounts for bona fide students; with a letter from ourselves, registered students can buy copies of Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Aperture and Lightroom at vastly reduced prices.
